Ilham Kamar is the founder of Kamar Associates, a Florida-based consulting firm that helps life sciences and other regulated companies navigate cross border regulatory and business challenges between the United States and Mexico. She advises clients on regulatory strategy, product approvals, label review, and cross-border coordination, bringing together technical understanding, strategic thinking, and a strong command of the cultural and business dynamics that shape both markets.
Her experience includes founding a consulting firm in Mexico City, advising NASDAQ-listed companies on entering the Mexican market, coordinating projects involving the Mexican Senate and U.S. companies, and working directly with COFEPRIS on matters related to pharmaceuticals, food, medical devices, and facility certification. She also held senior positions within the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, worked in South Korea on international compliance matters, and served as a research fellow at Bloomberg Associates in New York City.
Ilham holds an LL.M. in U.S. and Comparative Law from Fordham University School of Law, is eligible to practice law in Mexico, is fluent in English and Spanish, and is currently completing an Executive Program for Senior Life Sciences Leaders at Harvard Medical School.
